Nicole Howell attended the University of British Columbia where she obtained a degree in philosophy. She received her law degree from the University of Victoria. Nicole served as a law clerk at the Supreme Court of British Columbia, 1998-1999.

Nicole represents both employees and employers and advises on such matters as wrongful dismissal, employment standards, human rights, and disability claims.

Her practice covers all matters relating to the termination of employment or arising thereafter, for example: severance packages, allegations of cause, breach of fiduciary and related duties, and non-competition agreements.

Nicole has successfully argued employment cases at the provincial and supreme court level, as well as employment standard appeals.

You have been fired. This can be devastating and debilitating, particularly if you are a long-term employee or a one income earning family. You are overwhelmed and have many questions. Can they do this? Have you been adequately compensated? Has your employer alleged cause? Can you fight this? What are your rights? What are your options?

You need to terminate one of your employees and want to ensure you are fulfilling your legal obligations to that employee while at the same time protecting your company's best interests.

Representing both sides in employment matters enables Nicole to advocate strongly for her client while at the same time maintaining an unbiased and realistic assessment of the case with a view to negotiating the best resolution as efficiently as possible.

When not practicing law, Nicole spends most of her spare time on the North Shore mountains or Whistler mountain  with either her snowboard or one of her mountain bikes. She competed in the Test of Metal endurance race in Squamish in 2005 and 2006.
